Some people have antenna hooked to the VCR RF inputs and use the VCR tuner to select the channel. "from the VCR to the TV, though, there is no issue" Oh, and from the VCR to the TV, though, there is no issue that doesn't change.
#Vcr no signal on tv tv
By the way, if you're hooking from the antenna directly to the TV, the issue is the same you won't be able to watch any over-the-air channels without a converter or digital TV, since an older TV doesn't speak the new "language." If, instead, you're recording from or watching TV hooked up to a cable or satellite box, the signal has already been translated by the cable/satellite provider, so all you need is something that is "cable ready". The converter box acts as a translator, if your VCR doesn't have the translation capability built in. Where the VCR comes into the picture (if you'll pardon the expression) has to do with the recording function-from where does the channel you're recording (or passing through) come? If from your bunny ears or a rooftop antenna, you need something that can "speak" digital in order to record from or view that signal. The antenna signal is going digital think of it like speaking a different language. Until then, maybe I'll write my posts elsewhere and copy and paste them into the window. Can't you just have an extra page with the form still filled in saying "you missed a field"? Just a suggestion. I had to write the whole thing over again. By accident I put the discussion topic elsewhere, and my whole post was deleted. **Dave, it is really inconvenient that if you forget to fill in one field you have to rewrite the entire post.
#Vcr no signal on tv Patch
When you use bunny ears, as I sometimes do, you patch them through the VCR - is the same not true for the converter box (which is a HUGE rip-off, but again, a different subject)? What does the VCR have to do with the transmission? What am I missing here? I'm usually right-on with this stuff. For more information, call the Federal Communications Commission at 1-88 (TTY: 1-88), or visit the commissions digital-television Web site at: I don't get it. Analog-only TVs should continue to work as before with cable and satellite TV services, gaming consoles, VCRs, DVD players, and similar products. I was looking around and found one, I looked it up on Amazon and found this:ĬONSUMER ALERT: This television receiver has only an analog broadcast tuner and will require a converter box after Februto receive over-the-air broadcasts with an antenna because of the U.S.'s transition to digital broadcasting. I have to buy a DVD/VCR combo, as mine broke down and Sylvania is skirting any responsibility for it - but that's another subject.
